…and all you got was this dumb set of pictures. If you’re unfamiliar with SXSW, calling it a festival isn’t really helpful. It’s more of a take-over of all of Austin. They fill the entire city with cool things, like music, entrepreneurship, films and free junk. I went with no tickets or plans and it was one of the most amazing weeks I’ve had. Pictures here.
Because I’m going through a phase where I take Instagram way, way too seriously. I end up taking and ‘editing’ a bunch of pictures that don’t make the cut for one reason or another but that I still love. EXCLUSIVE sneak peek into the unknown insta-life of Zoë Scharf! You saw it here first!
Official breaking news: You can now find Zoë Scharf Designs, LLC working out of the Nebula Coworking Space where
they she I will be renting a desk.
I plan on being there just about all of the time. I plan on taking this freelance thing really seriously (I swear!) and I also am just looking for an excuse to be social. Come visit!
“We tend to worship visionaries and creative people (like Steve Jobs and Pablo Picasso) and elevate them to the status of gods, even though they were often assholes (like Steve Jobs and Pablo Picasso). Stop praising the jerks. It reinforces bad behaviour.” -Marc Johns
We celebrated my grandpa’s 93rd birthday. He is the most social, generous, kind person I know. Cousins, aunts, uncles, grandkids, great grandkids. Ranging in ages from 14 months to 93 years. I am coming down from the high of how special it is to have a family that values and prioritizes spending time together. And I feel especially lucky that we are able to do so in a place as gorgeous and wonderful as the Bahamas. Here’s to you Seymour.
I’ve been lucky enough to work lately with Kitchen Kulture, a pop-up gourmet food shop that offers freezable but delicious meals for you to take home.
In this poster we decided to play off of their chalkboard menu, the device they use to communicate with their customers at their most consistant location – the Tower Grove Farmer’s Market. We really liked how it highlighted their nomadic nature as well as their homemade, high-quality values.
Get at me using my new e-mail address…………………..
(….right?!?!) It doesn’t have to be in caps, that’s just me being excited about rhyming. Also, firstname.lastname@example.org since I anticipate people forgetting my silent ‘c’.
I’m totally feeling this visual representation of my life in info design by Vizify. THIS is why I use social meeting prolifically. I learn about myself. I share what I want to share but it’s more than telling other people when I go to the zoo, it’s my version of a journal. I pour in a little data about myself every day and end up with a comprehensive overview. Thanks, Vizify (pan to smiling face on a TV screen)!
Hand-lettering is sorta my jam so I really appreciate people like Sean Wes, who makes incredibly natural, elaborate and gorgeous illustrative type. What is a shame, is that when the process is done right, a pain-stakingly intricate process comes across as a sinch, especially since people assume it’s just some sketch since it’s hand drawn. So, I really appreciate him breaking it down for us wannabes here.
